Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the website marbyte.dev and the mobile applications published under marbyte.dev (together, the “Services”) handle information. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator of marbyte.dev.
We keep things simple and collect as little as possible. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising.
By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. If you contact us at support@marbyte.dev, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message. We use it only to reply to you.
Information collected automatically in our apps. To keep our apps working well and to improve them, we and our service providers collect limited technical and usage information, which may include:
- Usage and analytics data — anonymous or pseudonymous events about how features are used (for example, which screens are opened or which actions are taken), app version, device model, operating-system version, language, and general region. This is not used to identify you personally.
- Crash and diagnostic data — crash reports, error logs, and basic device state at the time of a crash, so we can find and fix bugs.
- Push notification token — if you enable notifications, your device provides a push token (via Apple Push Notification service, which we may manage through a delivery provider such as Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can deliver notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Purchases and subscriptions. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your card number or full payment details. We may receive your purchase or subscription status from Apple (or a service that manages entitlements on our behalf) so the app can unlock the features you bought and restore your purchases.
The website. marbyte.dev is a simple, static site. It does not require an account and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Standard server logs may be kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
2. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not use your data for third-party advertising or ad targeting.
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not ask for more personal data than an app needs to function.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Services;
- fix bugs, prevent abuse, and improve stability and performance;
- understand, in aggregate, how features are used so we can make them better;
- deliver notifications you have opted into;
- unlock and restore purchases and subscriptions;
- respond to your support messages.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK – GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information on these legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the app features and purchases you request.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the Services secure, fix bugs, and understand usage in aggregate, in a way that does not override your rights.
- Consent — for example, push notifications, where required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
5. Service providers and sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Services — for example, analytics, crash-reporting, push-notification, and hosting providers — and only as needed for them to perform those functions on our behalf. These providers are required to protect your information and may not use it for their own purposes.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Services.
We do not sell personal information.
6. International data transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism) to protect your information.
7. Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:
- Support emails: kept while we handle your request and for a reasonable period afterward.
- Analytics and crash data: kept in aggregated or limited form for as long as it is useful to improve the Services.
- Purchase status: kept while you use the app and as required for records and store compliance.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep the data we hold safe.
9. Children's privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@marbyte.dev and we will delete it.
10. Your rights (GDPR / EEA / UK)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete your data (“right to erasure”);
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- port your data to another service;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@marbyte.dev. We will respond within the time required by law.
11. Your rights (CCPA / California)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- know what personal information we collect and how we use it;
- request deletion of personal information we hold about you;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and
- not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). To make a request, email support@marbyte.dev.
12. App store privacy
Apple's App Store has its own privacy practices and may collect information when you download or purchase an app. Apple's handling of your information is governed by its own policies, not this one.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
